Hi, I’m Shannan Bowers.
This blog will take you on a journey through the steps of creating a balanced, sol fed lifestyle.
Why Sol Fed? Sol Fed means fed by the sun, although it can take on many more interpretations. The Spanish word for sun is Sol, while in Latin Sol means solution. The name of this blog can be interpreted as a desire to feed your soul, a way to find solutions to living a healthier life, or a drive to spend more time in nature. My hope is that this blog will inspire you to make the switch to clean living and make the journey enjoyable!
This blog is designed for you to explore different ways to feed your soul, find solutions to live a healthier lifestyle and inspire you to spend more time outside soaking up all the benefits nature has to offer.
Within this blog, I share with you the ingredients you need to create your own sol fed life. I focus on healthy eating, creating a non-toxic home, and how to maintain a clean lifestyle while traveling.
Clean living is a lifestyle. A lifestyle that focuses on intentional, healthy choices. It is organic, deliberate, and it’s fun! I will show you ways to maintain your health goals while having fun, enjoying delicious meals, traveling the world, and experiencing life’s adventures. You CAN have your cake and eat it too!
Welcome, and enjoy this new beginning! Here’s to living in a way that feeds your soul and feeling good doing it!
I am pleased to have you join me!

It’s time to run after every dream in your heart.
My Story…
I have always been passionate about clean living, but it wasn’t until I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease in 2016 that I truly kicked it into gear and did everything I could to remove the toxins in my life. Our bodies can only handle so much toxic exposure before symptoms begin.
Let’s use a bucket as an example. Some people’s buckets have holes that allow their body to detox better, while others don’t have holes which causes them to get sick sooner because their body isn’t eliminating toxins and detoxing as it should.
It isn’t one thing that makes us sick. It’s some heavy metals there. Then toss in some mold exposure. Some pesticides, food dye, and msg. Then some flame retardants. Before you know it, someone like me with no holes in their bucket is exposed to Lyme Disease. My body was so burdened with toxins, it couldn’t fight Lyme Disease. It needed help.
It was at this point that I began seeing a Lyme Specialist and I took my health into my own hands which meant putting a lot of time into researching what contributes to toxin overload. It was my goal to lower the number of toxins around me without sacrificing the things that brought me joy.
This meant finding new healthier recipes, personal care products, restaurants, and bringing in products that would help my body cope with everyday environmental toxins like air purifiers, water filters, supplements, and essential oils.
Once I took my health into my own hands, limited the toxins my body was exposed to on a daily basis, and improved my diet- my health drastically improved. But my journey isn’t over. The journey to living a cleaner lifestyle is always evolving and changing.
I am constantly on the lookout for new ways to improve the health of myself, my family, and my friends and I am excited to share my findings with you!
