Say no to spooky ingredients! Finding healthier Halloween candy that is free of refined sugar, food coloring, artificial flavors, and preservatives is next to impossible. However, as time goes on and the demand for cleaner, healthier candy options is there, we are seeing more and more healthier Halloween candy options.
I don’t want my girls to feel like they are missing out and they aren’t allowed to do what all the other kids are doing. At the same time, I want them to understand the concept of making healthier choices while still having fun, so I have found some healthier Halloween candy alternatives for them to enjoy. They are not something that I would allow regularly because they do contain sugar and other ingredients that aren’t the best but sometimes I make exceptions. In the past, I have thrown healthier Halloween candy in my kids’ trick-or-treat bags when they aren’t looking and at the end of the night allowed them to keep the healthier options and give the others away.
Another option is using the “switch witch”. This is where you leave your candy out on Halloween night and the “switch witch” comes and switches out the candy for something else whether it be a toy, money, or a healthier treat.
