Making the switch to a clean mascara can be a little more tough than some of the other makeup products. Years ago, L’Oréal Voluminous was my go-to mascara. At the time, it was so hard to find anything clean that even compared. The good news for you is that there are some great options out there nowadays which makes the switch a little easier.
Making the switch to clean Mascara is important! Conventional mascaras contain toxins including carbon black, formaldehyde, aluminum, and parabens all of which are known toxins that we need to be avoiding.
I have tried the majority of the clean mascaras on the market and have narrowed it down to the two best options.
Thrive Cosmetics Liquid Lash Extensions

Have you ever had fake lashes?! Thrive Cosmetics Liquid Lash Extensions truly is the next best thing, however, it does come with some cons.
The pros- It gives your lashes an impressive lift and makes them significantly longer. The best part about this mascara is it comes off unlike any mascara I have ever used. It comes off in clumps. No running. No raccoon eyes. No residual mascara leftover the next day. It’s amazing!
The cons- It’s a thick gel-like formula that is quite clumpy. Once it’s on, it’s on, there is no combing out the clumps with a lash comb. It also isn’t isn’t the most natural-looking mascara so if that’s what your after, you may want to skip this one. Another con is while it is a cleaner option, it does have a couple of ingredients that aren’t the cleanest.
Beautycounter Think Big All-in-One Mascara

Beautycounter’s Think Big All-in-One Mascara is super clean and it works. The formula is amazing… it lifts, volumizes, and lengthens. It is a feathery, lightweight, buildable formula that applies flawlessly. The biggest downside to this mascara is it isn’t the easiest to remove. I wouldn’t say it’s any harder to remove than the other mascaras on the market but definitely harder to remove than the Thrive Cosmetics Mascara.
All in all, they are both great mascaras. If you are looking to get the most dramatic lashes you can without false lashes, Thrive Cosmetics Mascara is the way to go. Or if you despise removing mascara more than anything (like me!). If you are looking for a really great mascara that does it all, then I would recommend giving Beautycounter’s Think Big All-In-One Mascara a try!
